Less than $5 at Trader Joe's, Winnefred's 2009 Chardonnay was crisply pleasant to drink out on out deck last night as we ate Garlic Herb Butter Angel Hair Pasta with Bacon and Italian Vegetables (see recipe below). So pleasant, in fact, that I'm staring at an empty bottle on our table this morning.
Not very oaky for a chardonnay, but lots of citrus and honey flavors. Went well with the goat cheese and stood up to the bacon in the pasta. If you're having spicy food, you may want to go with a reisling or gewurtz.
